The annual Great Plains Thinking Cap Quiz Bowl, open to students in Kansas, Nebraska, South Dakota and North Dakota, took place on Wednesday, November 11. There were 27 fifth grade teams, including all Andover elementary schools, and 26 sixth grade teams, including Andover Middle School.

The quiz is a self-scoring, computer contest of 100 multiple-choice questions. Areas covered include math, geography, government, sports, spelling, science, literature, English, history, general information and just plain fun trivia.

Wheatland Elementary ranked first in the fifth grade results and third in the overall results with a score of 1148.
Cottonwood Elementary ranked second in the fifth grade results and sixth in the overall results with a score of 1138.
Meadowlark Elementary ranked third in the fifth grade results and thirteenth in the overall results with a score of 1077.
Robert Martin Ranked fourth in the fifth grade results and sixteenth in the overall results with a score of 1050.
Prairie Creek Elementary ranked ninth in the fifth grade results and twenty-seventh in the overall results with a score of 992.
Sunflower Elementary ranked twelfth in the fifth grade results and thirty-fifth in the overall results with a score of 961.
Andover Middle School ranked fifth in the 6th grade results and seventh in the overall results with a score of 1135
