Andover Middle School's Project LINC began a Skype call with Livingstone Kegode, a teacher in Nairobi, Africa was set up so that students could interact with the Nairobi students. During the call, AMS students heard about the unfortunate news that one of the pipes in the Nairobi school burst, leaving the students with contaminated water. AMS teachers decided to give 6th and 7th grade students a real-life example of problem solving, and began a cross-curricular project centered on the water contamination problem in Nairobi. Schools in Andover, Nairobi, and Trikala, Greece are collaborating in this cross curricular project.
AMS is now raising funds for their project! Click here for an order form for the official Project LINC T-shirt that was designed by AMS publication students. AMS is also looking for personal or corporate sponsors that would like to pay an additional fee to have their name or company logo on the back of the shirts. Microsoft, Fishtree, AMSPO and Felipes Jr. are already sponsoring. We are hoping with your help we can reach our goals and help the most people as possible! AMS classes will also be competing to raise donations with a “Change the World” change drive Feb. 23-27.
