Educate Andover, Andover Advantage Foundation, and the Andover Education Association are hosting a Meet and Greet with the Board of Education candidates running in the April 7, 2015 general election.

The event is Wednesday, March 11, 2015 from 4:00-5:00pm at Andover Public Schools District Office, 1432 N. Andover Rd.

Candidates running for school board are:

  • District 1, Position 1 - Matt Forney (unopposed)
  • District 1, Position 4 - Josh Wells (unopposed)
  • District 2, Position 2 - Andrew Chaney & Marci Fugarino
  • District 3, Position 3 - Scott Wilson (unopposed)
  • At Large - Melinda Fritze (unopposed)

For the general election, all registered voters will vote for all four positions.

Here's a timeline of the April 7 election:

  • March 17 - Voter registration deadline for general election
  • March 18 - begin mailing general election advance ballots/advance mail ballot voting begins
  • March 31 - first day to vote advance ballot in county election office for general election
  • April 3 - last day to apply for mailed advance ballot
  • April 6 - noon deadline for receiving advance ballot
  • April 7 - general election

Here are some additional items that will also be on the ballot April 7. PLEASE NOTE: The items listed below will only be on the Andover/Butler County ballot. Those in Sedgwick County who will be voting for BOE positions will have Wichita mayoral  and city council members.:

  • City 0.75 sales tax for specific projects
  • City officials - all unopposed
    • Running for Mayor - Ben Lawrence
    • Running for City Council - Caroline Hale, Byron Stout IV, Troy E. Tabor
  • BCC Trustee - all unopposed
    • District 2, Position 1 - Ronald L. Engelbrecht
    • District 2, Position 2 - Candace L. Kunkel
    • District 3, Position 3 - Gregory P. Joyce
    • At-Large - Kenneth Bohon
