Andover Public Schools has been awarded $44,500 in grants so far this school year for Food Service, Physical Education and Wellness. Several schools submitted applications for the Fuel Up to Play 60 grant, which encourages students to eat a healthy breakfast and then get active for at least 60 minutes during the day. Midwest Dairy Council funded the grant and several Andover Schools recieved breakfast items and activity equipment:

  • Andover Central Middle School received funds for smoothie and breakfast carts, as well as for a Gopher P.E. golf set.
  • Prairie Creek Elementary received funds for insulated milk carts, P.E. bounce balls and sandbags.
  • Cottonwood Elementary was granted funds for a breakfast cart, smoothie blender, P.E. tennis set and P.E. flying discs.
  • Robert Martin Elementary received funds for a breakfast cart, blenders, P.E. tumbling mats and body bars.
  • Meadowlark Elementary was granted funds for a breafast cart, blenders, and P.E. balance discs, balls and chairs.
  • Andover High School was granted funds for a breakfast cart and blenders, as well as balance chairs for FACS class.
  • Wheatland Elementary received funds for a breakfast cart, yoga mats, Cup-Stacking sets and Bal-A-Vis-X.
