Welcome to Cottonwood Elementary

Who is the principal at Cottonwood Elementary?
I
have been with the Andover Schools for 12 years, first as a
counselor for Andover Middle School, Martin Primary North and
finally Cottonwood.
This is my sixth year as the building principal. I have been
in education for 17 years, first as a middle school teacher and
then elementary counselor. I graduated from Kansas
State University in
1988 with a Bachelor's degree in Secondary Education and Social
Studies. Since then I have completed a Master's degree in School
Counseling and Educational Leadership. In my spare time, I enjoy
watching K-State football, reading and spending time with
family.
I appreciate the opportunity to work at Cottonwood.
I believe we have a dedicated staff, who takes pride in working
together to provide students with a quality education. Not only do
we stress academics, but we believe in building our future, making
good choices and developing responsible citizens. It is true that
it is easier to build a boy or girl today, than it is to mend a man
or woman tomorrow.
We would like to welcome you to Cottonwood.
We hope you will come to school often to visit classes, to
volunteer, to participate in important groups such as PTO and site
council, and to attend conferences. We look forward to a productive
year where we will emphasize reading, writing and math. We hope to
make a difference with each child that passes through our
doors.
