In 8th grade science students will cover a variety of topics. Throughout the year we will cover content from three areas of Earth Science; we will discuss astronomy, weather and climate, and then earth's changing surface. Mixed in will be genetics and heredity from Life Science along with electricity and magnetism from Physical Science.
Our Advanced science class spend three quarters covering chapters from the Physical Science book and one quarter from the Environmental Science. This is a preparatory class that will take them right into high school Biology their Freshman year, if they have meet their 8th grade requirements. Some areas covered will be introductory chapters to concepts in chemistry, which includes the periodic table, motion, force and energy, and astronomy. In the environmental science text we will cover chapters the discuss our global ecosystems.
