Grant supplies AEDs for school gymnasiums
January 24, 2006
The Andover Public Schools District Nursing Staff, including nurses and health clerks, applied for and has received a $20,000 grant from Preferred Health Systems. This grant will place an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) with a lock box in six school gymnasiums in the district. AEDs are already in place at the two high schools.
District Lead Nurse Kellie Bamford, RN, said these machines will impact nearly everyone in the community who attends school or other recreational events, practices or activities at the schools. Six AEDs, along with child electrode kits, wall cabinets, accessory packs and training, will be provided.
