Lawson wins KAKE Golden Apple Award

Congratulations to Cottonwood Elementary School teacher Kim Lawson, who was surprised in her classroom Jan. 26 with the KAKE Golden Apple Award. The award, sponsored by KAKE Channel 10, Papa John's and Davis-Moore, was presented by Jeff Herndon of KAKE-TV, Terry Newman of Papa John's and Mickey DeHook of Davis-Moore. Lawson received $250 to use in her classroom, the esteemed Golden Apple and a Papa John's pizza party for her class.
The KAKE Golden Apple Award is presented to teachers who go above and beyond, demonstrating creative teaching and adding even greater value to learning, according to the KAKE web site.
This is the second Golden Apple Award winner in the Andover district this school year. Meadowlark Elementary School teacher Mike Wilbur also won the award.
