Mr. Raymond Linville has been the director of bands at Andover High School since the 2001-2002 academic year.  He holds a Bachelor's degree in music education from the University of Kansas (1988) and a Master's degree in conducting through the American Band College of Southern Oregon University (2005).   He has served as tubist with the Lawrence Symphony Orchestra and the Philharmonia of Greater Kansas City and from 1986-1993 was a bandsman in the 312th U.S. Army Reserved Band performing on the trombone, tuba, french horn, and euphonium in the jazz, marching, and concert bands.


He has previous taught instrumental music and received tenure at Neodesha, Iola, Hesston, and Pratt High School. He has served as a Kansas ARTS propels trainer for the Kansas State Deparment and worked on the Kansas State Music Curriculum committee through KMEA.

High school and middle school bands conducted by Mr. Linville have received 23 First Division awards in marching and concert band competitions.  Mr. Linville is a member of the Music Educator's National Conference (MENC), the Kansas Music Educator's Association (KMEA), Kansas Bandmasters Association (KBA), the Andover Educator's Association (AEA) and Phi Beta Mu.  He is currently a member of the KBA board as the South Central Kansas representation.
