Pinwheels for Peace
On Friday, Sept 26 Cottonwood Elementary participated in the International Day of Peace. Pinwheels for Peace is an art project started in 2005 by two art teachers from Florida as a way for students to express their feelings about the world and their lives.
During art classes, students created pinwheels with colorful designs and messages about peace. These were placed in the school lawn as a way to promote peace and understanding around the world as well as in their own lives.
