Transition Committee Meeting Minutes: June 14, 2006

Introduction

Superintendent, Mark A. Evans and Committee Facilitator, Keturah Austin welcomed the new committee members and expressed the district’s appreciation for their commitment to the committee.

 

Committee Purpose

Mrs. Austin reviewed the purpose of the committee and the bond projects totaling $39.68 million. The committee agreed on the following:

            Transition Committee Purpose – To develop a plan of action for the Andover school district as it transitions students, staff and equipment from four elementary schools to six elementary schools.

            Process – The plan of action, or plans of action, will be presented for discussion in public forums, and finally to the Board of Education, who will make a final decision about the plan of action that is best for the Andover school district.

 

Group Norms

The committee met in small groups to develop group norms. See attached.

 

Notebook

Mrs. Austin reviewed the committee notebook. Each meeting the committee members will be able to submit questions or comments on an index card. These questions or comments will be addressed at the following meeting.

 

Meeting Dates and Time

The committee agreed to meet on Wednesdays. The next committee meeting is August 30th, 5:30-7:30 p.m. A complete schedule of meeting dates will be available at this time.

 

Mr. Evans closed the meeting with his gratitude and the importance of this task before the committee.
