Here we are getting ready to start an extremely busy month. Don’t forget that your child is to create some type of a visual to go along with their animal report. The animal report night is April 21. Your child needs to bring their visuals on April 20. This is always a fun event and families are welcome to attend. We are asking that families bring in some type of cookie or brownie to share that night. Drinks and paper products will be provided. We are going to the zoo on April 28. Cost is $4 per person or a copy of your zoo pass. Please send in the zoo money as soon as you can.
A second grade requirement is that students learn the parts of the ear. This is much like when we learned the parts of the eye. I sent home a study packet on Monday. The test will be Friday, April 3. While we have been working on this at school it will be important for you to help your child study!
Accelerated Reader: To help get ready for third grade I will be asking students to participate in Accelerated Reader by checking out AR books in the library, reading them at home and taking an AR test at school.
A big project that we do in second grade is our Economics Unit featuring a popcorn company. We will be doing our Popcorn Unit in May. I will need some help from parents to carry out this fun unit. More information will be coming as it gets closer.

April 21 – Animal Report Night 6:30-7:15
April 28 – Zoo Field trip – please let me know if you’d like to volunteer and lead a small group around the zoo.
