August 11, 2011
8th Grade Science will cover several topics from the areas of Earth, Life and Physical Science. Our curriculum consists of Astronomy, Weather, Genetics and Heredity, and Electricity and Magnetism. Students will be involved in many hands on and written projects along with their daily assignments to meet their 8th Grade Science requirements.
Advanced Science will also cover the Earth, Life and Physical Science topics of weather, astronomy, genetics and heredity, and electricity and magnetism this 2011-2012 school year. Students will be asked to move at an accelerated rate through the basic information so that they can become more scientifically literate through labs and other planned hands-on activities and projects. Upon completion of the Advanced Science course students should be able to demonstrate fundamental abilities to scientific inquiry, develop and understanding about science, technology and society, appreciate how science is a human endeavor and further understand the nature of scientific knowledge and see science from a historical perspective.
