On behalf of the
entire staff of Meadowlark Elementary—Welcome Back! Our
school year is off to a great start! It has been wonderful seeing
our Meadowlark family
again after the summer break! Please join us in making our families
new to Meadowlark
feel welcome!
Our newly
renovated school looks fantastic! The halls have been brightened up
with
beautiful new floor tile. We now have a grand entryway which not
only looks fantastic but
has heightened the security of our building by allowing the office
to have a view out to the
front doors. The new art, computer, and music rooms are the envy of
all the art, computer, and music teachers in the district, and our
brand new cafetorium is a so special with the awesome stage and
added storm protection as a FEMA Storm Shelter.
We are planning
a “Grand Reopening” for our school. Did you know that this
building was first opened in 1959? The building has seen 50 years
worth of students pass
through its halls! To commemorate the past 50 years, our Grand
Reopening will have a 50’s style theme! Please let me know if you
have any vintage memorabilia from the 50’s that you wouldn’t mind
sharing.
The staff of
Meadowlark is committed to making this an educational and
meaningful
year for your children. I would encourage you to visit your
children’s classrooms frequently and to communicate directly with
your children’s classroom teachers as soon as a problem or concern
arises. Most concerns can be resolved quickly and are usually the
case of miscommunication. However, if after speaking with your
children’s teachers, you feel you need further assistance, please
feel free to call Tammy Clarkson, our guidance counselor, or myself
at 218-4630.
Sincerely,
Jody Baker, Principal
