Board members recognized

September 10, 2008

Board of Education President Roger Elliott and Member Nancy Kirkendoll were recognized at the Board of Education meeting on Monday, Sept. 8.  Each received a certificate from the Kansas Association of School Boards (KASB) for achieving Honor Roll Level I status in the Boardsmanship Academy.  The Academy encourages school board members to seek continuing education regarding board member service. KASB sponsors workshops and seminars throughout the year at which school board members receive points based on the length and content of each seminar.  A board member must earn 50 points to reach Level I status.  Superintendent of Schools Mark A. Evans presented Elliott with his certificate (see photo), and will present the certificate to Kirkendoll at a later time.  Congratulations to both for their accomplishment.
