¡Bienvenidos a la clase de español!
AMS offers Spanish for all 3 grades. 6th grade students may take Spanish for a quarter, 7th grade students may take Spanish for a semester, and 8th grade students may take Spanish for an entire year. The 8th grade class is a Spanish 1 class and is taught at an advanced level. Upon completion of Spanish 1, with a B or higher for both semesters, the student will enroll in Spanish 2 as a Freshman.

Class expectations
Students are expected to bring pen/pencil to class everyday. IF students take their folder out of the classroom, then they will be expected to bring that every day as well. Students are expected to be attentive in class, willing to work with others, and able to work alone when asked.
Grades
Grades for this class will consist of worksheets (completed in class ) and partner activities (also completed in class). The grading scale is as follows:
90 - 100 A
80 - 89 B
70 - 79 C
60 -69 D
0 - 59 F

COURSE OBJECTIVES
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:

Grades for this class will consist of worksheets, partner activities (completed in class), projects, and tests/quizzes. The grading scale is as follows:
8th grade Spanish (SPANISH 1)
CLASS SYLLABUS
Students are expected to bring pen/pencil, paper, book and completed homework to class everyday. This class will have homework and the students are also expected to practice the vocabulary, on their own, every day.
Grades for this class will be comprised of scores on homework, quizzes, tests, pronunciation (during speaking tests) and an occasional project. The grades will be a weighted grade with 10% of the grade coming from their homework scores and 90% from their quiz, test, project and pronunciation scores. The grading scale is as follows:
Course Objectives
If the student completes this class with a B for both semesters, he/she will enroll in Spanish 2 as a freshman.
