The administration of Andover Central Middle School believes that
sportsmanship is a general way of thinking and behaving. I am
writing this letter to remind you that the concept of
“sportsmanship” must be taught, modeled, expected, and reinforced
at school, at home, and at all competitive activities.
As a member school of the Kansas State High School Activities Association, the administration strongly supports the following KSHSAA sportsmanship policy:
- Be courteous to all. (participants, coaches, officials, staff, and fans)
- Know the rules, abide by and respect the official’s decisions.
- Win with character and lose with dignity.
- Display appreciation for good performance regardless of the team.
- Exercise self-control and reflect positively upon yourself, team, and school.
- Permit only positive sportsmanlike behavior to reflect on your school and its activities.
It is my hope that as fans and parents, you will pause and reflect on the above listed principles and model positive “fan behavior” when attending winter athletic events, both home and away.
Sincerely,
Douglas L.
Baber
Principal
