Superintendent of Schools
September 11, 2007

Mark A. Evans has served as the Andover Public Schools
Superintendent of Schools since July 2005. Highlights of his tenure
include passing a $39.68 million bond issue by a nearly 3‑to‑1
margin, continued increases in student achievement as measured by
state assessments and other tests, an increased focus on classroom
support with new mentoring and evaluation programs, and more than
double the technology tools and integration support for the
classrooms.
A native Kansan, Evans has more than 25 years of educational
experience. He and his wife, Stacey, have two children. Chelsea
works in marketing at Union Station in Kansas City, and Mitchell is
a senior majoring in business at the University of Kansas. Mr.
Evans serves on numerous boards and committees in the community,
including the United Way board and the Greater Andover Days
committee, as well as being an active member of the Andover Chamber
of Commerce and a member of the incoming Andover YMCA board.
