The Andover Board of Education heard recommendations for new instructional materials for elementary English language arts at the Feb. 12 meeting. After thoroughly reviewing several curriculum resources, the curriculum review committees recommended the adoption of UFLI Foundations for K-1 and Core Knowledge Language Arts by Amplify for K-5.

Addison Smith and Olivia Voegeli earned top honors in the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards.

The report recommended "that the AEA accept the $750 base increase and that the district not attempt to subsequently renegotiate any other issues that have been tentatively agreed to.”

Fifteen Andover musicians have been selected to participate in Kansas Music Educators Association state instrumental ensembles. The bands and orchestra will perform Feb. 22-24 at the KMEA In-Service Workshop in Wichita.

These students were selected by audition and will perform in February at the Kansas Music Educators Association's In-Service Workshop.

Nov. 14 was an exciting day for Andover Public Schools! Board members from The Foundation for Andover Schools, accompanied by high school cheerleaders, surprised teachers, counselors and principals with 2023-24 educator grants. In all, more than $49,000 was distributed for 26 projects.
