Anna Tri, a senior at Andover Central High School, will receive one of three Harry Gore Memorial Scholarships to attend Wichita State University in the fall.
Anna was one of 607 seniors who competed for the prestigious scholarship, worth $64,000 over four years.
She is interested in studying biomedical engineering at WSU. She has been president of the Kind Campaign for two years at ACHS, where she organized volunteers to write words of encouragement to students, staff and teachers.
Anna is also president of the Hispanic Honors Society, is the historian for National Honor Society and a VoluntTeen at Wesley Medical Center.
“Anna is an amazingly driven and dedicated young person, and her work ethic is unmatched,” says Jenn Clark, youth services manager at the Andover Public Library. “I know her level of commitment to everything she does will make her an outstanding student leader at WSU.”
