The Andover Public Schools Board of Education met with the Butler Community College Board of Trustees on June 20. The two groups, along with Superintendent Greg Rasmussen and BCC President Kim Krull, met to continue a dialogue between the two organizations. Andover high school students have benefitted greatly from the partnership with BCC. In addition to the success of the Early College Academies, high school students also have the opportunity to take a variety of dual credit classes and can graduate high school with college credit.
In addition to the academic partnership, the two organizations share facilities in Andover. USD 385 is currently engaged in a facilities use study and looking at future plans for the district that will impact Butler Community College. During the meeting, they brainstormed ideas for future partnerships. Superintendent Greg Rasmussen commented that "it was a very positive meeting and a good chance to get to know each other. We look forward to a continued partnership with them."
