Emma Cooper takes 3rd in Butler County Spelling Bee!

Congratulations to Emma Cooper for taking 3rd place in the Butler County Spelling Bee! 

The competition was very stiff at the Butler County Spelling Bee held Friday, Feb. 3, 2017 and was a true test of spelling ability for the twenty-six students who competed. Fourth grade student Emma Cooper, from Sunflower Elementary, managed to stand above the rest with a 3rd place ranking. With this exciting victory, Emma has secured an invitation to compete in the next level of the Spelling Bee competition on Feb. 25 and has the potential to move on to the national level in Washington D.C.

The Andover district was also represented by Alexis Markusfeld from Andover Central Middle School, Daul Lee from Andover Middle School, Megan Davis from Andover eCademy, Addison Martineau from Meadowlark Elementary, Sophia Bankston from Prairie Creek Elementary, Kamden Thornton from Cottonwood Elementary, Sophie Thiessen from Robert Martin Elementary and Bridget Bleakley from Wheatland Elementary. Congratulations to all of the participants! You all worked very hard and are truly exceptional spellers!
