For the 2022-23 school year, COVID policies and protocols are being handled under the Andover Public Schools communicable disease policy (JGCC). Under this policy, “(a)ny student noted by a physician or the school nurse, or local health officer, as having a communicable disease may be excluded from the school for the duration of the illness. The student will be readmitted to regular classes upon termination of the illness, as authorized by the student’s physician, the local health officer, or after the expiration of any period of isolation or quarantine.” The full policy can be found on Board Docs at usd385.org under “School Board.”
Andover Public Schools will continue to recommend that students and employees follow recommendations provided by public health agencies such as the Kansas Department of Health and Environment and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
In order to maintain a safe school environment, Andover Public Schools will offer COVID testing to students and staff during the 2022-23 school year. Testing will occur from 6:45-8 a.m. and 3:15-4:15 p.m. at the south entrance on the south side of Andover eCademy, 1411 N. Main St. in Andover.
In addition, home test results will be accepted through CovidTestResults@usd385.org. Please submit a photo of your test result with your child’s name and birthdate in the photo.
