2023-24 applications

Applications for Andover Early Learning Services for the 2023-24 school year are now being accepted. Please click the link below to begin the application process. More information on each of our programs can be found on this page.

Programs often fill quickly, and spots in our programs are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Students whose applications are received after programs are filled will be placed on a waiting list. About our programs

Andover Early Learning Services provide a high-quality educational experience for young children in the years before they are eligible to enter kindergarten. The outcome is for children to enter kindergarten ready to succeed. While all programs are offered at Prairie Creek Elementary School, 654 S. YMCA Drive in Andover, KS, these programs serve any student who lives in the Andover Public Schools boundaries.

Program highlights include:

  • Certified teachers and highly-qualified support staff.
  • Half-day classes meet four days a week, Monday through Thursday.
  • The morning session is from 8:35-11:40 a.m. and the afternoon session is 12:45-3:45 p.m. 
  • Students participate in library, art, music and physical education instructed by certified teachers.
  • Low student-teacher ratios.

    • Students must be 3, 4 or 5 years old as of Aug. 31, 2022, and toilet trained.
    • Current Early Learning students must re-apply each year to continue participation.
    • Spots are filled based on the order applications are received.
    • Enrollment fees are $300 per month. Initial, nonrefundable payment of $300 will be due Feb. 22, 202s. This payment will cover August and September fees. Further fee payments of $300 will be paid through monthly bank drafts beginning Oct. 1, 2022.
    • Transportation is available for a fee for students who live and are transported within the Andover district.
    • Sessions offered:
      • 3-year-olds AM and PM.
      • 4-year-olds AM and PM.
      • 5-year-olds PM only.
    • Students must be 3 years old by Aug. 31, 2022, toilet trained, and must meet one of the following eligibility criteria:
      • At least one parent was a teen at the time of the child’s birth
      • Lives in a single-parent household
      • Limited English proficiency (eligibility determined by screening assessment)
      • Meets criteria for Federal Free Lunch Program (verified in July, recommend assessing for possible developmental delay as a back-up qualifier)
      • Demonstrates lower-than-expected developmental progress (eligibility determined by screening assessment)
      • Either parent lacks a high school diploma or GED
      • Department for Children and Families (DCF) referral (ex-foster care)
    • No fees required
    • Transportation is available for a fee for students who live in and are transported within Andover district boundaries. Free transportation may be available for those who qualify.
    • AM and PM sessions offered.
    • Students must be 4 years old by Aug. 31, 2022, toilet trained, and must meet one of the following eligibility criteria:

      • Lives in a single-parent household

    • Must be 3 years and 6 months by Aug 31, 2022, and toilet trained
    • Students to provide language and social modeling in Early Childhood Special Education classrooms
    • Must pass an assessment in areas of language, pre-academics, social, self-help, fine motor and gross motor skills. During the application process, you will be asked to sign up for a time for completing a screening.
    • Spots are selected through a lottery system.
    • Fees are $150 per month. Initial payment of $150 will be due Feb. 22, 2022. This payment will cover August and September fees. Further fee payments of $150 will be paid through monthly bank drafts beginning Oct. 1, 2022.
    • Transportation is available for a fee for students who live and are transported within the Andover district.
    • AM and PM sessions.
    • 3½ to 4-year-olds typically placed in the AM, and 4-year-olds typically placed in the PM.
    • Offered to 3- and 4-year-olds who qualify for services in areas such as communicating, learning, hearing, seeing, moving or social/emotional needs.
