Food Service FAQs

Yes. The U.S. Department of Education's free meal program has been discontinued for the 2022-23 school year. Meal prices will be $2.90 for elementary school student lunches; $3.45 for middle school student lunches; $3.50 for high school student lunches; $1.95 for all student breakfasts; $4.75 for adult lunches; and $2.40 for adult breakfasts. Some students also have the opportunity to purchase a la carte options.

USD 385 policy states that elementary school students who have a lunch account with a $0.00 balance or less may only charge meals. Students with accounts overdrawn more than $10 may not charge anything. Students may pay cash for a meal or bring a lunch from home. It is the student's responsibility to monitor his/her lunch balance. An e-mail notification will be sent each Thursday for each account with a balance of +$40 or less.

For new enrolling students, you will not be able to add funds via check, card, cash or online to your student's Food Service account until after your student's first day of school. We recommend your student brings cash or check for the first day of school until their Food Service account is active 24 hours after the corresponding date. We apologize for the inconvenience this may cause.

Yes, Breakfast and lunch meals are served at all schools in Andover. Breakfast is available in the kitchen of each school each morning. Breakfast is available to free, reduced and paid students. Lunch is available as well for free, reduce and paid students. We also have a wide array of a la carte offerings to supplement the breakfast and lunch meals.

Whole Grain-Rich refers to the percentage of grains in the food that are Whole Grains and not refined; more than 50 percent of the total grains must be whole grains. The web pages below will help describe the whole grain-rich foods we use.
