ACHS senior Ashley Payne and Andover eCademy 7th-grader Caitlyn Willis both received awards from The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards. Ashley is a Local Honoree and Caitlyn is a State Honoree. Congratulations, Ashley and Caitlyn!

Ashley Payne received the President's Volunteer Service Award for individuals who have volunteered significant amounts of time to serve their communities and their country. As a Local Honoree, Ashley will receive a Certificate of Achievement. To qualify for the President's Volunteer Service Award, Ashley performed over 100 hours of service.

Caitlyn Willis was named one of Kansas' top two youth volunteers for 2015. Caitlyn volunteers at her church and is planning a project called “Hats of Hope” to knit hats for cancer patients and premature babies. As a State Honoree, Caitlyn will receive $1,000, an engraved silver medallion and an all-expense-paid trip in early May to Washington, D.C., where she will join the top two honorees from each of the other states and the District of Columbia for four days of national recognition events. During the trip, 10 students will be named America’s top youth volunteers of 2015.
